Planning for GENI is still in the very early stages. The definition of the GENI facility will continue to be refined over the next several years, including after we begin to build it.

This web site is maintained on behalf of the research community as a forum for discussing and defining GENI. Current snapshots of GENI's design will be posted on this web site. The community is encouraged to contribute to GENI's definition by...

participating in a discussion mailing list,
attending meetings and workshops, and
communicating directly with colleagues on various planning and working groups.

Disclaimer: The proposed facility described in various pages of this web site represents a synthesis of NSF workshops and Town Hall meetings that have taken place over the past year. The project development plan requires that GENI be defined with a certain level of specificity, but everyone understands that the underlying technology changes rapidly, and that the requirements the community places on GENI continue to mature. Therefore, these pages should be viewed as a snapshot of GENI as of January 2006. Additional snapshots will be posted as they come into focus.
