Dr. Ali Sydney

Dr. Ali Sydney is a Network Scientist for the GENI Project Office (GPO).  Ali has contributed to building distributed GENI clouds, in addition to applying his expertise in the network engineering and integration efforts required to commission and operate each cloud. He has collaborated with numerous GENI experimenters, sites, and network operators to provide the necessary software development and network engineering, which has resulted in the success of critical projects. Additionally, Ali has been instrumental in contributing to various pursuits that seek to investigate the characteristics of SDN in secure environments. Currently, Ali is the SDN infrastructure lead exploring the future of SDN in GENI.

Ali obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering at the US Naval Academy, and an MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering at Kansas State University. His research interests are in bio-inspired Cyber Defense technologies, Moving Target Defense systems, Software Defined Networking, and robustness of complex networks, for command and control of Cyber Physical Systems.
